Resurgent's team combines investment and operations experience across the full life cycle of a company: start-up, growth and mature companies.  We invest in situations where we partner with an existing management team or can act as an interim team to stabilize a company and then recruit an industry team.

Dan Tamkin
Managing Partner

Dan Tamkin is an experienced entrepreneur, investor and large company executive with special expertise in company operations.  His passion is corporate re-invention and he loves to grow people and businesses while delighting customers.

During his career, he has overseen the turnaround of several companies primarily in the technology and service sectors.  He has partnered with lenders, founders and / or boards to help struggling companies.  

Mr. Tamkin has been the CEO of five successful turnarounds.  He has spent time as the Chief Technology Officer of Transdev, a $10bn transportation conglomerate, he built a staff of 70 and ran the Digital Center for Innovation.

Mr. Tamkin joined Transdev through the sale of Unified Dispatch, a call center technology company he acquired and turned around.  The key to Unified Dispatch successful exit was the re-invention of the business around the foundational product and technology concept for IntelliRide. 

Prior to Unified Dispatch, he was an associate at Momentum Ventures in Los Angeles and part of the management team that turned around Computer Motion.

Mr. Tamkin holds a Bachelor degree in Business / Economics from the University of California at Santa Barbara.

Bryce Winkle
Managing Partner

As both an operating executive, investor, and advisor, Mr. Winkle has deep expertise in private equity, business strategy, leveraged finance, and financial and operational restructuring across the technology, services, and consumer industries.

 

Through roles at Bain and Company, Alvarez and Marsal, The Gores Group and as entrepreneur, Mr. Winkle has developed deep expertise in M&A transactions, as an executive/operator, as well as in board oversight. 

 

Operationally, Mr. Winkle has led and grown a small business as a CEO, as well as led, designed and executed carving out large corporate divisions and building out new G&A functions, sales force re-organizations, cost savings initiatives in excess of $20M, and recruited and hired C-level executives. 

 

Mr. Winkle has led acquisition and sale efforts ranging in size from over $500M to under $1M.  Through these processes he has developed a deep understanding of deal dynamics and deal execution.

 

Mr. Winkle has served on the board of directors of Imagine Communications, Gates Air, Alpheus Communications, Big Strike, Inc. and on the Audit Committee of Imagine Communications and holds a BA in Biology from Duke University with honors and an MBA from UCLA where he graduated in the top 2% of his class.

Ali Zaidi
Principal

Ali Zaidi is a Principal with Resurgent Capital Partners. His primary responsibilities include deal qualification, conducting due diligence, transaction execution and portfolio monitoring.

 

Prior to joining Resurgent, Mr. Zaidi was a senior member of the corporate development M&A team at Cengage, a private equity backed global higher education content and technology company. In his role at Cengage he successfully executed on acquisitions, worked on strategic corporate initiatives, and aided in driving operational improvements throughout Cengage’s business lines.

 

During business school, he was a direct investor at SPK Capital, a Los Angeles based private equity family office focused on control and growth equity investments in businesses across various industries, real estate and other illiquid assets. Earlier in his career he worked in private equity secondaries at HQ Capital and AlpInvest Partners and began his career at Wachovia Securities in the consumer & retail investment banking group.

 

Mr. Zaidi received a BBA in Finance from Temple University, where he was a dual University and Business Honors Scholar and graduated summa cum laude in the top five percent of his class, and an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.
